Where Sunsama shines
Sunsama is a thoughtful app. Each morning it walks you through a guided ritual: what’s on, what matters, how long it’ll take, and whether it all fits. Each evening it helps you shut down. That rhythm is genuinely calming.
It’s built for work. Sunsama pulls in Slack, Asana, Trello, Gmail and your Google, Outlook and iCloud calendars, so the whole job sits in one daily plan. Timeboxing a task puts it on your calendar, Focus Mode shows only the task you’re on, and Sunny, its AI assistant, can create, move and reorder tasks, by typing or by voice. There are proper desktop apps for Mac, Windows and Linux, plus iPhone, iPad and Android. Have a look at sunsama.com.
If you plan your workday at a laptop and your tools are scattered, Sunsama brings them together beautifully.
Where Yoodoo is different
Yoodoo is a phone-first planner for ADHD, for all of your day, not just the work bit.
You start on your phone and plan there. Sunsama’s help centre says you need to run its planning ritual once on a computer before the mobile app unlocks. That’s fine at a desk, less so if your phone is where your life happens.
We have an app blocker that locks the apps that eat your day, on a schedule, when you tap Block now, or when you start focusing. We couldn’t find app blocking in Sunsama. Its Focus Mode is about your screen and your Slack status, which makes sense for a work tool.
Ask Yoodoo plans your day when you just say it, then files things into lists, breaks big tasks into tiny steps, and ticks your habits, which forgive a missed day. Both apps do two-way calendar sync. In Yoodoo it’s part of Pro.
When your day falls apart
Sunsama is kind about unfinished work. Anything left at midnight rolls to tomorrow on its own, so nothing gets lost. Its auto-scheduling places tasks around your meetings, and when there isn’t room it asks whether to schedule anyway, move it to another day, or defer it.
Yoodoo deals with it in the moment. Fix my day notices when something runs over or doesn’t start, asks you one question, and fits the rest of today around what really happened. Meetings and locked things never move. Your most important task is protected. What doesn’t fit goes to Anytime or tomorrow, never into a pile. It’s one tap, and it’s in Lite, the free version.
So Sunsama helps you plan a realistic day. Yoodoo helps you rescue the one you’re in.
Price
Sunsama is $17 a month billed yearly, so $204 a year, or $22 billed monthly. There’s a 14-day free trial with no card needed, and no free plan after it.
Yoodoo Pro is $59.99 a year, $7.99 a month, or $149.99 once for lifetime. Everyone gets Pro free for their first week. After that Lite is free for good, with the timeline, Fix my day and the focus timer. See Pro.
